Measures explosive total-body power and force transfer. Standing two-handed overhead toss from behind a marked release line. Distance measured to first landing contact. Best of two attempts.
Equipment required
  • Medicine ball — 8 lbs (REALFIT Absolute Score standard)
  • Measuring tape or marked floor grid
  • Flat surface with clear throw lane
  • Marked release line
Test guidelines
  • Stand behind the marked release line
  • Hold ball overhead with both hands — no rotation or single-arm throw
  • Feet must be stationary at the moment of release
  • You may extend onto toes at release
  • Measure from release line to first landing contact point
  • Best of two attempts
